Naath Students Union’s new Leadership in Kenya Take Office Today

Posted on

It’s been lengthy since the election campaign as the Nuer students in Kenya were yawning to elect novel leadership. This organization is no longer Nuer Students’ Union as before. This organization formerly known as Nuer Students’ Union in Kenya(NSUK) has been officially changed to Naath Students Union in Kenya (NSUK).Therefore, the organization is non-political as stated in its constitution. It’s constitutional that terms limit in office does not exceed one year. As usual, the 2016-2017 leadership finally comes to an end in march-2017.

The campaign was officially unveiled and open as per the constitution of Naath students’ union in Kenya (NSUK). However, despite the fact that campaign was open in January 2017 by the electoral commission; some challenges were encountered by the election body. It was then extended up to February before the official closure of campaign this month. It was on 25th February-2017 when the Nuer electorates cast their votes and finally elected leaders of their choice. The electoral commission then gave two weeks period of final swearing of newly elected leadership. It was on Saturday 11th march-2017 when the peaceful transition of power was witnessed by naath students in Kenya. The colorful inauguration characterized by jubilation was conducted at pal’s restaurant opposite Ken com house in Nairobi city center.

The newly elected leaders of Naath students’ union in Kenya were from four (4) states of Nuer origin. These states include Bieh state, Phow state, Latjor state and Liech state respectively.

However, these newly elected leaders were from different universities specifically Nairobi the Kenyan capital. The constitution allows only the executive positions to be contested for and the other posts to be nominated by the elected chairman based on the constitution. The followings are the elected leaders that were recently inaugurated comprising of the executive board only.

NAMES IN FUL POSITION UNIVERSITY

  1. Wany Bum Machar aka Gatramikel Chairman Mount Kenya
  2. Mathew Bile Pouch Deputy Chairman -PAUL
  3. Lul Kier Deng Secretary General- Kenyatta
  4. Lam Jar Deng Finance Secretary- Kenyatta
  5. NyaLang Last Thiel Information -Kenya Methodist

This is the first ever peaceful transition of power witnessed by naath students from different walks of life. The electoral commission has done a tremendous work to make the inauguration more successful. The naath students were more excited than you can imagine before entering the inauguration hall. One could tell that the newly elected leadership and most importantly the chairman is a Godly chosen leader. I think this election process will provide framework and will act as an example in the future election processes. Naath community in Kenya for the first time in the history made us proud than ever before. Amongst the invited quest of honor was the Bishop Thomas Gamy who sworn in the recently elected leadership. After the oath, the election commission then allows the new leadership to execute their duties publicly without fear or favour. The chairman in his remarks vows to unite all students and works together for the betterment of naath students in Kenya.

“Challenges are there but with the students’ cooperation and with God guidance success in his leadership is inevitable”, Bum Assured.  He focuses on serving the interest of naath students as well as resuscitating the unity of naath students in Kenya. This entity is independence body ready to mobilize funds from individuals, well-wishers and political parties. Resource mobilization, reducing university dropout rate and accountability are our main concerned and interest in the NSUK leadership. And I quote from Donald Trump speech “time for empty talk is over and it’s time for actions”.

We finally had a new leadership and we must works together with the other south Sudanese students ‘association in Kenya for the interest of our students and transformation of our country. We shall respect constitution and works very closely with all stakeholders because together we can do more.

Posted on

aircrashIn the evening of Sunday January 22, 2017, the gallant SPLA-IO forces under Division 3 Commander (CDR) Major General Tut Riik gunned down one of the Juba regime’s military cargo near Nasir. The Juba regime military cargo was carrying enough weapons and ammunitions from Juba to Nasir when the gallant SPLA-IO forces brought down and crashed on the Sobat River.

The military cargo pilot and at least ten other regime soldiers were killed in the crash. Indeed, following the fighting and its demoralising defeat by the gallant SPLA-IO forces at Nordeng, the collapsing Juba regime has been attempting to reinforce and resupply its starving soldiers in Nasir by air.

The ruthless Juba regime has also been trying its level best to expand and exacerbate its brutal and merciless campaign against civilian population in the area. However, the gallant SPLA-IO forces are now in total and complete control of the vicinities of Nasir and have confined the Juba regime soldiers inside Nasir and Wicyardiw with absolutely no access to food and medical attention.

The gallant SPLA-IO forces have also blocked the roads to and from Nasir. In addition, the gallant SPLA-IO forces in and around Nasir and indeed across South Sudan are now professionally capable of bringing down any threat from the air, defend their territories and protect the innocent civilian population from the ruthlessness of the Juba regime solders.

Dear all, I have used soft copy because I have been busy out side the office even the Office seal was not available.

SPLM -(IO) Youth league Conference in Melbourne Victoria has ended Peacefully

Posted on Updated on

SPLM-IO YOUTH LEAGUE NATIONAL CONFERENCE IN AUSTRALIA under the theme South Sudanese Youths are for change has finally wrapped up on the Sunday evening in this Melbourne Victoria.

Dear compatriots, citizens of the new nation and comrades in the struggle the SPLM-IO youth league under the leadership of Dr Riek Machar Teny  humbly would like to brief the entire SPLM-IO family/church in all level that Youth leagues has launched a national conference for first time since the establishment of our political branches in Australia.

Before elaborating on some of the important issues discussed or addressed during the event, it is our privilege and honor that Youth league organization in Australia would like to appreciate the present of the SPLM-IO external and foreign affairs chairman Stephen Par Kuol , newly appointed country representative to Australia Mr Peter Ayul and all  the states leaders or representatives who come to participated in this conference.

This has been a tremendous and productive conference so far, delegates were able to pin pointed to the very real political issues affecting not only young people in the South Sudan but also the entire population in the country. The conference has indeed commented that, there is a need for youths rise and to take up the responsibilities regardless of their tribes, languages, gender, and political affiliations and so forth to champion the general interest and the rights of the South Sudanese young people in areas such as socio-economic and political life in new the nation without hesitation.

Having better understand about the root causes of this senseless war, the chairman of external foreign relation of the SPLM-IO under the leadership of Dr Riek Machar Teny Ambassador Stephen Par Kuol argued that, youth should no longer be followers; you must take charge for your future. It is time to call spade a spade and a panga a panga, you must follow party’s policies, objectives, goals and missions that are more beneficial for your future rather than focusing on individual. I am therefore would like to challenge you and to do things which you have never done before, please promote Unity, diversity and patriotism among the Youth South Sudanese in both South Sudan and Diaspora, there is no time to wait you must do it now.

Furthermore due to political willingness for peace settlement by the regime in Juba, delegates agreed and endorsed the need for a regime change; it is our general feeling that the current status quo in South Sudanese system will never determine young men/women’s future. So much mention in this conference, for instance reason identified for change include the state policies under kir and jieng council of elders that brought deaths to vulnerable population, divisions, hatred, tribalism, destruction and most importantly shame to our nation are not going to change if we do not stand up for our rights and the rights of those who cannot do for themselves. Therefore it is time to end this eccentric one race domination through advocacy, let us champion and promote the cause of the South Sudanese fighting because it is a just and meaningful war which aim to eradicate dictatorship in South Sudan. A fight which aim to establish a fairer system for all South Sudanese, a fight that restore law and order, a fight that will promote equality, freedom and justice for all.
